Artists / KORAI ÖRÖM (H)

KORAI ÖRÖM Korai Öröm plays "the sounds of many nations and galaxies" - qualified by the media of ambient, urban folk,action-music, the folk music of non-existant people etc., their music is more worldmusic in the band's opinion, while "psychedelic freaks around the world made of Korai Öröm a cult band."

The music of Korai Öröm has significantly evolved over the years, and it is a perfect bridge between alternative and dance music. It makes a very peculiar use of "standard" instruments and of more exotic ones (didgeridoo, fuyara, pipes, self-made accessories, etc.) to create a music which is never purely rock, and never purely dance, always flying above these categories, ignoring the conventional style boundaries.

The concerts of Korai Öröm, organised either in classic venues or in unusual places such as swimming pools and even outdoors surrounded by nature, feature live video projections (VJ's are part of the crew), and usually end up in dance parties with the intern band Korai Banditos. The well-known actor and theatre director Peter Halasz entrusted the band to write and perform live music for his piece "Sanyi, the pilot", and the German movie "Im Juli" used their music as well.

Korai Öröm has released 7 albums (under its own label) and has participated in many festivals and has toured several times throughout Europe, and it has also organised its own festivals, inviting Eastern-European bands. Their music is further enriched by collaborations with musicians of other bands like Besh o droM and Szilvasi Gypsy Folk Band.

The concerts of Korai Öröm remind the audience that music is the ideal basis for night-long parties...
