Artists / REVELATION OSTRAVA
A Gospel choir with a difference, Ostrava Revelation was founded in Feb 2001 by Ostrava-Poruba YMCA for university aged people in Ostrava. Even though it has no entry requirements, the choir has gained a reputation for it's quality and lively concerts, where it sings a mixture of Gospel, Spirituals and the occasional "light pop" songs from artists such as Billy Joel and Van Morrison. In the last two years Revelation has become a popular regular at a variety of events, from the VSB Majeles Festival to CB Czech-English Advent Service. 2003 saw the choir add a couple of new venues to it's list, including Club Boomerang on Stodolni, and Ostrava Prison. In addition, Revelation has also sung at a variety of Charity events and balls, and in November will be singing in Club Parnik. Members of Ostrava Revelation have also sung with Gospel choirs in the UK as part of an ongoing exchange we have with a network of British "Revelation Rock- Gospel" choirs. This year 3 of our members spent a week in Edinburgh, producing a concert with 120 singers from 15 different Gospel choirs in UK, including Bazil Meade, legendary conductor of the London Community Gospel Choir.
Singing at Colous of Ostrava is the perfect end to a successful academic year, and we look forward to see what the next year will bring…..
