The CH MUSIC Production agency is proud to offer you the concerts of the most popular czech reggae band ŠVIHADLO (Skipping Rope). SVIHADLO present reggae music in its true roots form with the elements of Trip-hop, Dancehall, Dub, including samples and computer rythms. Jamaican - born, black singer and toaster, VINCENT RICHARDS lend the goup originality and style authenticity.
Svihadlo began its history as a punk-reggae trio in 1983 in SKODA City Mladá Boleslav. Later moved its work to Prague and joining with other groups in the Czech Reggae Movement. After five demo-casettes in eighties, (at that communist time were hard to release any records), Svihadlo recorded its first studio work, two songs: "Jamaica Rum" and "Everything is a Babylon" in 1993. Video for these song can be seen on Czech TV. A sample of that time´s work is on the casette ROCK-REGGAE-DANCEHALL with 13 tracks, which was the ground for release the first CD SVIHA-DLO - Reggae Vol. 1 (CH MUSIC 1994). Svihadlo played many concetrs in the clubs and Open Airs in all the Czech country thru the years. They played also some of the Reggae gigs in Poland, Germany and Austria. The second CD SLUNCE (The Sun), (INDIES rec. Company 1997). This CD bring to the band some of the big hits as a: Zelený List (Green leaves), Na Jamajce půl srdce mám (I have a half of my heart on Jamaica), Babylon II , and more other hits and the new videoclip. This album bring the band most publicity in the czech press and popularity on the czech reggae scene.
In summer 2000 Svihadlo, as a first czech group, played the China Tour, in Sihuan, west China, about 20 concerts in clubs and Dance bars. In China we started to make a new videoclip for the song Dancehall Wild and 45 minute Movie from the China days. (director David Sýs). This will be finished in September 2001. In the spring 2001, Svihadlo was seen in two popular czech TV music shows "Na kloboučku" and "Noc s Andělem", where played a lot of new songs. Now, Svihadlo play about 10 concert in month, and is reddy for a new album. We have about 20 pure new songs with combination of roots reggae with computers and samples. The studio work on new CD started in August 2001.
Svihadlo made in 2001 about 70 clubs and festivals concerts in whole Czech Republic, Slowakia and Croatia. In the end of 2001 we finished the studio works on the brand new album "Sám si to nevychutnám" (I don´t enjoy it alone) which appears on market in May 2002. This album is supported by the clubs and festivals concert tour across the Czech republic. Our live show contains: The nine members band with four vocals, saxophone, guitars, keyboards and power sounding roots rythm section, supported by drum computer and samples. We played strictly our own repertoir from our three CD with combination Czech-English lyrics, where most important persons on the stage are the singers Peter Sturma and Vincent Richards, which brings the more like two hours show for happy dance, love, peace and harmony.
